Sun Young Byun

As an established Korean artists, Sun Young is noted for her ability to utilize contrasting methods and materials.  Trained in traditional Korean calligraphy, she imbues western themes with a powerful and provocative eastern sensuality.  Breaking from the mainstream of oriental paintings, she chooses human anatomy as a primary subject matter, using traditional Sumi ink and rice paper.  Her bold and contrasting brush strokes create a powerful and lasting impression.

The work of Sun Young has been exhibited in numerous galleries and museums throughout the world, including: France, The United States, The Netherlands, South Africa, China, Germany, Indonesia, Turkey, The Philippines, and Mexico.
