Peggy Wagner

Peggy Talbot Wagner, a native of Elkins, attended Elkins public schools, graduated form D & E in 1952 and received an MA in Public Affairs from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, NY. Following her retirement in 1995 from her career in public sector urban planning, Peggy pursued her dream of working in watercolors, enrolling in the Art League School in Alexandria, VA.

Now a professional artist and a juried member of one of the DC area’s foremost societies,  Potomac  Valley  Watercolorists,   she  exhibits  her  watercolor   paintings  in  juried shows, her most recent ones being the Annual American Landscape Show at the Art League Gallery in the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria and the Sixty-Eighth Annual International Exhibition of Fine Art Miniatures at Strathmore Hall in Maryland.  At the November Fairfax Art League art show, Peggy’s painting At Rest was selected for the “People’s Choice Award.”

In 1991 Peggy was recognized by Davis & Elkins College with the Distinguished Alumni Award for her professional work in planning and community development and her contributions to the college.  She now serves on the Ross Chair Committee as part of the D & E Centennial  Campaign  and  plans  to  donate to  the  Ross  Chair  funds  a  portion  of   the  proceeds  from  any  paintings  sold  at  the  Booth  Library.
