Riding my bicycle one day I heard a train whistle blowing in Elkins.  Following the sound I came upon this passenger train rolling down the line at the Industrial Park.  It turned out this was the trial run for what is to become a weekend excursion between Belington and Elkins.

"Ah-h-h, the rhododendron's!"  How wonderful it is to walk on one of the many paths through the Otter Creek Wilderness Area.  To brush your shoulders against these beauties is one of life's simple pleasures!

This great road is between Parsons and Elkins.  At places the Cheat River seems 1000' down on the left (north) side.  How ever far the distance might be, I wouldn't want to fall asleep driving here!

Small ice jam on the Tygart.  If you have never experienced an ice jam on a river, it is one of those indescribable experiences.  The hydraulics cause some pretty amazing things to happen out there.
