Our area is full of limestone caves.  This one happens to be a cave on private property which the owner is fixin' up!	What ever happens to those Augusta log cabins that are built every year?  Well, here is one from the mid 90's!

This picture was taken a bit east of north from Rich Mountain.  It shows Elkins in the Valley	Here we are looking west across the Rich Mountain ridge.

The Elkins Airport is over the closest ridge to the left.  Here we are looking a little South of West towards the Rich Mountain Range.	Here is one of our local "cowboys" making two bales of hay from a ten acre field.  Usually, by this time of the year the grass would be over the top of the front wheels.
At one time this building served the needs of many in the small town of Whitmer, WV...	...today, the building demonstrates how "mansions on the hill are only temporary."  As the building crumbles, the many hearts carry on!
Just one of the many desks used by the WebWizard in coming up with ideas for West Virginia Home and other WebSites.	Once in a while you gotta get out to a big city.  This is Charleston, WV.  Shiny dome on the Capitol.  Only wish the people inside would shine a bit!
Try counting deer as you drive around the back roads.  Bet ya lose count before long!	Here's what it looks like when you lie out on a blanket in the woods and look up.  If you are in a romantic mood you might even make out a heart from the pattern of the leaves and the blue sky above!

Replacing railroad ties on the line between Elkins and Beverly.	Augusta Heritage Workshop is just starting again.  In the foreground a fiddle player fiddles with his fiddle.  In the background is a tent covering the woodworking class.

Riding my bicycle one day I heard a train whistle blowing in Elkins.  Following the sound I came upon this passenger train rolling down the line at the Industrial Park.  It turned out this was the trial run for what is to become a weekend excursion between Belington and Elkins.	"Ah-h-h, the rhododendron's!"  How wonderful it is to walk on one of the many paths through the Otter Creek Wilderness Area.  To brush your shoulders against these beauties is one of life's simple pleasures!
H-m-m-m-m-m.  A fire and a tri-pod cook set would be nice right about now!	OK, take a guess.  Where was this picture taken?  Everyone has been here!  Remember when there use to be a Ranger Station up top?  Bed, radios, etc.
Jay Widney field being "limed."  Imagine being the truck driver!	What can I say, just another one of those great spots that we have so many of!

This great road is between Parsons and Elkins.  At places the Cheat River seems 1000' down on the left (north) side.  How ever far the distance might be, I wouldn't want to fall asleep driving here!	Going northwest on the same road.  Corridor H will be passing through this area a few more miles up.
The Cheat River, again!	You take the high road, and I'll take the low road, and I'll get to Parsons before ye!
Lower Cheat Bridge.	This is what they mean by, "busy as a beaver!"  None of them had fallen, and all were going in different directions.
I've got this thing about country roads.  Guess that's one reason I live here!   Always wondering what beauty lies around the next bend.	Guess I like country roads because of the great places they take you to!
In the summertime, it doesn't get much better than this on a hot day.	For negotiating all the country roads a $1500 4WD pickup is pretty much perfect.  Scratch this...who cares!  Who'd notice?

Small ice jam on the Tygart.  If you have never experienced an ice jam on a river, it is one of those indescribable experiences.  The hydraulics cause some pretty amazing things to happen out there.	It's good to have a 4 wheel drive around here.
